Four New Chaos Battleforce Boxes Announced
Each of the new boxes, due early this year, will focus on one of the Chaos gods.
The Games Workshop have started off 2026 with a bang, announcing not one, two or even three new battleforce boxes. That's right, four new battleforces are on the way - each representing one of the Chaos gods.
Aside from the obvious alignment differences - each box offers something unique in terms of the contents and should give players something new to work with in their respective armies
No indication of pricing and release dates for the four boxes - but I've included the approximate points value (without enhancements) and approximate individual cost (AUD) for each battleforce, bearing in mind that presently battleforce boxes tend to price at around $400-$430 (AUD).
Slaanesh: Lords of Excess Battleforce
One of two battleforces on offer that primarily focus on Chaos Space Marines, the Lords of Excess Battleforce focuses on She Who Thirsts.
In the box, players receive two battleline choices, with 10 model squads of both Tormentors and Infractors to offer core troops specialising in both ranged and close combat.
There's also plenty of heavy weapon fire support with two six model squads of Noise Marines, providing bombastic discordance with their sonic blasters and optional blastmasters.
The real centrepiece of the box is the Daemon Prince. From the promo photos provided - it's looking as though adequate parts will be provided to build a winged Daemon Prince, giving players a terrifying, beautiful new edition to their armies.
It's looking as though this box should build out to around 835 points. The individual cost of the models is around $624 AUD, just tipping the scales as the most expensive.
Khorne Daemonkin Battleforce
As is his style, the Khorne battleforce takes a more direct route to delivering its destruction.
Players receive three battleline choices, with two Bloodletter units (20 models total) and one unit of Khorne Berserkers (10 models) taking the fight to enemy from the get-go.
There's also plenty of mounted goodness in this one as well, with six Bloodcrushers, and a Lord on Juggernaut to crush and kill the enemies of the Skull God.
I've calculated the Khorne Daemonkin Battleforce out as being around 685 points all up so it's certainly on the small side compared to the other battleforces. The individual cost of the models is around $534 AUD.
Tzeentch: Sekhmet Coven Battleforce
For me, this is the most exciting and unique of the bunch.
The Sekhmet Coven Battleforce completely foregoes battleline choices, with the core troops of this box instead being Scarab Occult Terminators (as a former Dark Angels player, I have to at least display some begrudging respect for this design choice!)
Adding to the heavy hitting is the Mutalith Vortex Beast - a mutating, tentacled affront to sanity that excels at distracting enemy units and contesting objectives.
To round out the box is an impressive selection of character choices. Leading the army is an Infernal Master, accompanied by three exalted sorcerors - and it looks like one of these is riding a Disc of Tzeentch.
Points wise this one is sitting at around 885, making it the most expensive in-game box of the four. The individual cost of the included models is around $522 AUD.
Nurgle: Vile Vectorium Battleforce
Papa Nurgle comes in with the goods here
Once again, there's no battleline choices to be found here - with the core troops being 20 poxwalkers players can throw at their enemy in whatever way they desire.
Providing heavy firepower is a trio of Foetid Bloat-drones, while three Deathshroud Terminators provide killing power up close with their manreapers and plaguespurt gauntlets.
The interesting bit of information provided in the Games Workshop article for this one is the reference to Lord Felthius and three Tainted Cohort bodyguards.
I've only had cursory involvement in the hobby for a good number of years, so I'm absolutely willing to accept corrections here, but both Felthius himself and the Tainted Cohort don't have rules in 10th edition as far as I'm aware?
From what I can see the four models referenced would appear to be a Lord of Contagion and Blightlord Terminators.
Based on my calculations this should sit around 825 points, making it another heavy hitter. The individual cost of the included models is around $620 AUD.
