Deals, Discounts & Bundles: 9th August 2025

It's time for your weekly look at just a small selection of the gaming deals on offer across the web!

Fanatical

Only two bundles are available from Fanatical this week, so things are looking pretty quiet. They are, however, also running their Summer Sale this week, including a selection of flash deals.

Scorching Bundle

This bundle leans in to the whole scorching hot summer sale vibe with a selection of offering across a number of genres. This is a super cheap bundle so you could easily pick up everything at pretty decent price if it's what you're into.

A few games that caught my eye in this pack:

• Thrive: what is really cool about this game is it's actually open source - so if you want to play it for free you can absolutely do that. In Thrive, players take control of a single organism on an alien planet, and are responsible for guiding its development and evolution amid competition from other such organisms.
• Monument Valley II: Panoramic Edition: a simple, stylised puzzle game with a variety of environments and puzzles at play.

Platinum Collection - August

The latest edition of the Platinum Collection is a little quieter this morning. Still, there's ones to be found among the 18 games in this bundle.

Try these ones on for size:

• Choo-Choo Charles: I never thought I'd see a horror train simulator, but then I saw Choo-Choo Charles pop up on team for the first time. Travel the lands in your old steam engine helping the townspeople, upgrading your train, and defeat the murderous, bloodthirsty, somewhat arachnid(?) train Charles!
• Deadlink: in this roguelite cyberpunk FPS, you find yourself piloting the ultimate weapon of your corporate security overlords. Disrupt your business rivals using cutting edge tech and weapons as you vie for superiority on the corporate battlefield.

Humble

Only a single new bundle on offer at Humble this month. But before we get into that, we'll take a look at Humble Choice for August.

Humble Choice - August

As always, Choice brings the goods to those who've subscribed. There's more than a few games in here that justify the subscription cost alone.

Here's a couple I'll be installing first:

• Persona 5 Royal: I'm embarrassed to admit I'm still yet to play a Persona game (or Shin Megami Tensai) for that matter, but it's impossible to deny that these games are masterpieces. Over the last couple of years I've built up quite a few of the Persona games in my library - perhaps it's time to start playing them.
• Let's School!: from the same developer that brought you My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock (the latter of which is also in Choice this month) comes a campus management sim that actually has me a little excited. Critics seem to give this title fairly mixed reviews, but the steam community seems to love it!

WB: Play The Legends

Quite an impressive list of titles here from Warner Bros. Games, including the Arkham series, Mortal Kombat and more!

Honestly, I don't think I need to go into detail around what to expect from these games, they really speak for themselves!
