EA Confirms What Everyone Already Knew: Battlefield 6 is not Coming to Linux

I've always been a big fan of the Battlefield series. Unfortunately, when I decided to switch to running Linux full time, I had to come to accept a difficult realisation - that I would no longer be playing Battlefield. Battlefield 6 will be no exception, with EA confirming that the game will be utilising the kernel-level Javelin anti-cheat program.

AYANEO Announces "World's First" Dual Screen Android Handheld

AYANEO has announced another new dual screen, clamshell-style gaming portable, the Pocket DS. The surprising twist in this announcement is that the Pocket DS will be running Android.

Surprisingly, the new model will feature Qualcomm's last generation Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset. AYANEO promises the new model will excel at high performance mobile games, retro (including dual screen) games, x86 emulation and streaming from the cloud or a nearby PC.

Stop Killing Games' EU Citizens' Initiative Closes With Nearly 1.45 Million Signatures

The Stop Killing Games petition has closed with 1.45 million signatures, comfortably exceeding the required one million signatures. As there is often a number of invalid signatures that are removed from a citizens' initiative count, a buffer is usually needed. 1.45 million signatures should easily allow the initiative to pass, requiring the EU to provide a response.

Linux Native Game Liftoff: Micro Drones Exits Early Access

After almost four years in Early Access, Liftoff: Micro Drones has hit its v1.0 release. Micro Drones lets players design, share and race on FPV drone course. I've not played it as of yet, but it's getting pretty positive reviews, and of course we love a game with a native Linux build!

Avalanche Studios' Xbox Exclusive Contraband Shelved

In a move that has perhaps surprised noo-ne, Avalanche Studios has announced that development work has ceased on Contraband, an Xbox exclusive open world co-op game announced back in 2021. There was very little information is available on the project, however my read on the vibes I got from the announcement trailer was that it looked somewhat like a bit of an insurgency-themed game based in the cold war period.

This follows the cancellation of a number of other Xbox-exclusive games, and the closure of several Microsoft-owned game studios.
