A Quiet Week for Us

I juggle a lot of hats. Working full time, running more than a few Fediverse services, and writing for this magazine of course.

We had a few issues over the last couple of weeks that impacted access to pretty much everything we host, which took a fair bit of effort and investigation to get on top of. Because of this I've had a lot less time to write, hence why the magazine is a bit empty this week.

But there's some good news out of it all - we've now moved onto CDN provider BunnyCDN, so wherever you are in the world our static assets should get to you a little quicker. We're also running a distributed reverse proxy via Bunny as well, so if you're using any of our services hopefully your first hop (get it? that was actually entirely unintentional) should be a little bit quicker.

As per our longstanding position, we do not host any content in the USA, and the same is true for our CDN and reverse proxies. For readers in the USA, that means you're going to be getting your static assets from either Europe or South America. We do have our reverse proxy running in Canada however, which should hopefully still be reasonably snappy for you.

This isn't a paid post or anything, but I've been pretty happy with BunnyCDN so far and the ease of using it. I'd recommend giving them a look in if you're looking for for a CDN for your projects (or your Fediverse instance!)
