500 Worlds Narrative Expansion Resources Coming - Closing Out 40k 10th Edition?

News Jan 6, 2026

Games Workshop have shown off the first official images of the upcoming product launch for the 500 Worlds narrative campaign. Space Marine's Titus is central to the action, and the campaign is likely to wrap up 10th Edition, with 11th Edition probably just around the corner.

As part of their semi-regular Sunday Preview, Games Workshop have lifted the covers on the 500 Worlds narrative campaign that is likely to close out proceedings in Warhammer 40,000's 10th edition.

After the events of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Amazon Video short Secret Level, Demetrian Titus finds himself once again named as the Captain of the Ultramarines Second Company.

Additionally, the Ultramarines' prodigal son finds himself tasked with a mission bordering on the impossible - recapturing the 500 worlds which make up the Realm of Ultramar.

As has been the case in recent editions of Warhammer 40,000, each edition has tended to close out with a large scale narrative campaign - so it's likely based on this that we'll see 11th edition break cover by the end of the year at the latest.

Personally, I think it'd be interesting to know if 500 Worlds was always the plan, or if there was a pivot driven by the success of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. We'll likely never know, but the synchronicity between the different media Warhammer 40,000 is portrayed across is great to see.

There's a good number of upcoming releases relating to the campaign, some of which are looking pretty amazing.

In addition to the releases covered in detail below, there'll also be a Space Marine heads customisation set, a Necron-themed Boarding Actions terrain set and a Necron Destroyer-themed dice set.

Captain Titus and the Wardens of Ultramar

This set features a cast of new and old characters to accompany Titus on his quest. Along with Titus himself - who gets an absolutely beautiful sculpt including a fur cloak and looking as stoic as ever, the set also includes Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 co-stars Metaurus and Gadriel, who now serve as part of Titus' command squad.

Joining the command squad are Ultramarian administrator Lucia Vestha, astropath Dainal Kornelius, fleet Commodore Gaius Silva and PDF commander Aemelia Minervas.

Games Workshop have released datasheets for both Titus and the Wardens unit, which allow the Wardens to attach to one of a few different unit options, which Titus himself can then attach to as well to give the unit a massive power boost.

The meat of the announcement, 500 Worlds: Titus – The Battle for Unity Begins is a box set of four books covering lore and rules for the campaign.

500 Worlds: Titus covers the lore of the campaign, providing information on the Ultramarines units taking part in the conflict as well as the Necron forces under the command of Nekrosor Ammentar - the main antagonist of the campaign.

500 Worlds: Titus – Dread Incursions provides rules for Boarding Actions campaigns and missions, including missions specifically focused on combat within Necron Tomb Worlds. There's also new Boarding Actions detachment rules for Ultramarines and Necrons.

500 Worlds: Titus – War on the Vespator Front provides players with rules to run their own 500 Worlds campaign, providing a map, framework, special rules and stickers to track the progress of two or more players across the theatre.

Finally, the 500 Worlds: Titus – Detachments booklet provides detachment rules for three new detachments each for Ultramarines and Necrons.

There will also be a special/limited edition with nicer binding and the like.

Necrons Get Some Love, Too!

In addition to the Titus/Wardens kit, the Necrons get a new unit and a resculpt of an existing one. As someone who has just started collecting Necrons, this is a happy coincidence for me!

Nekrosor Ammentar leads the Necron forces in the campaign. This grotesque, towering brute commands the respect and loyalty of an ever growing Destroyer Cult, with constant Cryptek modifications to allow it to more adequately carry out its desire to seek out and destroy organic life.

The C'tan Nightbringer also gets a new sculpt. This one looks like it's significantly bigger than the previous sculpt - which I feel has existed more or less unchanged for a very long time (at least it looks pretty similar to the one that was around back in 3rd/4th ed when I was playing last!). I'm a particular fan of digital-like effect on the cloak which really give life to the idea that the Nightbringer is imprisoned by the Necron.

Also on offer is a limited-time Necron battalion box, featuring a variety of Destroyers, and designed to be used with the Cursed Legion detachment rules included as part of 500 Worlds.
